WHO ARE WE?
AWS Women User Group, Abuja (AWSWG Abuja) is a vibrant, community-led network of women passionate about learning, building, and innovating with Amazon Web Services. Based in Nigeria's capital city, our group fosters collaboration and empowerment through hands-on sessions, workshops, and discussions around AWS technologies — from cloud computing, AI/ML, and DevOps to data engineering, serverless architectures, and beyond. We are driven by the mission to create an inclusive space where women in tech can connect, grow, and lead in the world of cloud innovation.

MEET THE AWS WOMEN USER GROUP, ABUJA COMMUNITY DAY COMMUNITY LEAD

Brown Ofonime is a senior software engineer and a Tech social activist, born and raised in Nigeria. In around a decade, she grew a diverse exposure to cutting-edge technology frameworks to create resilient products and share best practices of software methodologies and STEM Education. In 2020, Ofonime was awarded the 2023 She Code Africa TechElle award and The 2024 CMX industry award for the best non-profit community professional award, a global Ambassador Award to Women tech network for her extensive achievements in the tech industry, and the Womentech Makers award powered by Google and she is also a chapter lead of She code Africa, Abuja Chapter, Now a Founder of Faith Tech, Africa.

Ibi Fiberesima is a Lifestyle UGC Creator, Community Strategist, and Event Host shaping how people experience tech and Web3 through storytelling and connection. Her work sits at the intersection of community, communication, and creativity — helping brands simplify complex ideas, build meaningful relationships, and tell stories that feel human. From managing communities in Open Source, to Blockchain-based ticketing platform, and now a Real World Asset DAO, and creating relatable tech content, to hosting live events that bring energy and structure to every moment, Ibi has become known for her ability to make audiences feel seen, involved, and inspired.

Blessing Iyare is a dynamic education and technology professional passionate about empowering young people especially girls to thrive in STEM fields. With over a decade of experience in program management, digital learning, and capacity building, she has led initiatives that inspire innovation, leadership, and social impact across Africa. As an engaging speaker and host, Blessing has facilitated numerous panels, workshops, and community events, where she shares insights on topics such as technology inclusion, women's empowerment, education innovation, and professional growth. She is also committed to using storytelling and digital tools to drive conversations that create meaningful change.

I am Ifeoma Ilechukwu, a lawyer and an AI governance advocate with over eight years of experience in risk management, governance, and compliance. I have first-hand experience in data training which gives me an edge in providing extensive advice in ensuring that AI-enabled technologies are fair, transparent, robust and trustworthy.

Anne Usang is a Certified AWS Cloud Solutions Architect Associate and Certified Cloud Practitioner with a deep passion for cloud architecture. She has a strong foundation in leading cloud-centric initiatives such as infrastructure automation, cloud cost optimization, and system performance enhancement. Anne serves as the AWS Cloud Security User Group Leader for West Africa, where she contributes to fostering cloud security awareness and education across the region. She is the Founder of CWA Academy, an initiative focused on empowering Africans to build innovative, cloud-based solutions that address local challenges.

Competent and personable ICT professional with over 18+ years' progressively responsible experience in designing Object Oriented Programming web applications and development, data management, development research, data analytics, knowledge management, managing and expanding cross-functional teams, and liaising with top management and technical teams on proffering digital solutions. In the last few years, built capacity in Change Management, AWS DevOps, Microsoft Azure DevOps user-centered digital solution development, strategic planning, leadership, data analysis and measurement, and cloud infrastructure architecting. Expertise in developing complex cloud infrastructures and technical solutions for industry and government. Proven leader who can mentor junior colleagues and build strong development teams while also working on independent projects and collaboratively as part of a team to troubleshoot advanced challenges. Energetic IT Project Manager with 8+ years of experience in planning, controlling, executing, and closing various IT projects. Managed all phases of 26M(Naira) design, development and deployment of PHP stack web Application using PHP Framework for the University of Abuja and closed before deadline. Achieved 70% process time savings through implementing process automation and IT upgrades at the University of Abuja.

Mary Makanjuola is a passionate communicator, trainer, and speech coach dedicated to helping individuals find and amplify their voices. She is the founder and lead consultant at Ryan and Jasmine Consult, where she empowers professionals to communicate with clarity and confidence. Driven by a commitment to youth development, Mary also founded My Voice Matters Youngkast — a dynamic platform designed to nurture young talents into celebrated public speakers by giving them the space to express their ideas boldly. A proud Distinguished Toastmaster and the immediate past Area 7 Director of Division C, District 130, Mary exemplifies leadership in the world of public speaking and personal development. She lives by her own powerful words: 'Let your voice be heard no matter the size of the stage.'
